Unfortunately, Marija never experienced it in the same way as her sister, as the economic crisis there worsened significantly in the following years. This was the cause of Marija's sadness and resentment towards her sister. She was a housewife and in 1935 she married Slovenian Jože Malačič, a tailor, with whom she had a daughter, Maria, and a son, Joset. Marija, who never visited her hometown due to her bad migration experience, died at the age of 83. Her descendants currently living are her grandson and two great-granddaughters.
